I AM MEMORY, I AM FOREST: HIDDEN HISTORY

→ The exhibition Eu Memória, Eu Floresta: Hidden History presents yerba mate from the uses and knowledge of indigenous peoples of the South; from the first places of cultivation of the plant: the forests; as well as its improvement by small producers and aspects related to the scientific and artistic representation of nature made by foreign travelers and colonizers.⠀
The exhibition includes a wide range of photographs, archaeological artifacts, three-dimensional pieces, reproductions of the album Voyage pictoresque et historique au Brésil, by Jean-Baptiste Debret, as well as the emblematic Kanhgág Family photopainting at the Museu Paranaense, from 1903, and specially restored for be part of the exhibition.⠀
Among the dozens of pieces on display, the show also features a work by the indigenous Wapishana artist Gustavo Caboco.
